Doug Schuchart will lead Beckhoff Automation’s business development efforts worldwide in fulfillment and fulfillment centers, parcel and post applications as global head of intralogistics industry. The promotion follows Schuchart’s successful efforts in the industry vertical with OEMs, warehouse integrators and end users in the United States for more than five years. He will continue to report to Beckhoff USA President Kevin Barker and now also to Hans Beckhoff, Founder and Managing Director of Beckhoff Automation GmbH & Co. KG.
During the intralogistics and e-commerce boom of recent years, Schuchart has played a vital role in winning new business and customer success with some of the most recognizable names in the industry such as Honeywell Intelligrated, United Sortation Solutions, Fortna, EuroSort, JBT, Swisslog and Suite. He also increased Beckhoff’s involvement in key industry groups and led the company’s efforts in the MHI Solutions and Conveyor and Sorting Systems (CSS) community industry groups. Together with product management in Germany and the USA, Schuchart has contributed to the development of products for the intralogistics industry, including the EP7402 EtherCAT Box with integrated controller for motorized roller conveyors (MDR).
“Doug has done an amazing job exposing America’s top retailers and package companies — from Target to Amazon and beyond — to Beckhoff and EtherCAT,” Barker said. “The adoption of these technologies by major players, including their addition to Walmart’s control specifications, demonstrates its deep understanding of the unique challenges these businesses face. In his expanded role, Doug will be even better positioned to lead Beckhoff’s product development efforts and coordinate major global projects.
Originally from Eastern Pennsylvania, Schuchart joined Beckhoff USA in 2007 as a Regional Sales Engineer before assuming the dual role of Northeast Regional Sales Manager and Material Handling Industry Manager and logistics in 2016. Since 2019, he has focused exclusively on customers in this fast-paced sector. -growing industry as responsible for the material handling and intralogistics industry. Prior to Beckhoff, Schuchart held several management, sales and engineering positions for Delta Systems & Automation and Device Bus Integration, Inc.
